
In the light of a recent unfortunate case of a Sarawakian youth who committed suicide based on her social media poll, Malaysia Psychiatric Association Chairman Tan Sri Lee Lam Thye (also the Senior Vice-Chairman of MCPF) stated that this could be viewed as a form of ‘mass cyber-bullying’ that has led to her tragic death (reference Bernama.com dated 16th May 2019). It was thus most appropriate that MCPF Penang SLC Member Paramaguru Balan Moghan shared about what the NGO SNEHAM MALAYSIA with the tag line ‘Building Hope Together’ was about – one that provides emotional support, suicide prevention and helpline services. He shared the Confidential Hotline 1899 22 5757 and the Service Hours provided (Daily 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm accompanied by a trilingual write-up (English, Bahasa Malaysia and Tamil) which is has also been posted on this website www.mcpfpg.org – a breakthrough in trilingual communication by MCPF Penang.
