A successful Critical Focus Meeting chaired by MCPF Penang Chairman YBhg. Dato’ Seri Ong Poh Eng to update MCPF SLC Members on the forthcoming “PDRM Pulau Pinang – MCPF Penang Scam Awareness QR Code Launch” on 20th February 2025, 9:00 am at PGC Ballroom was held today Wednesday 22nd Jan 2025, 4:00 pm to 5:40 pm. MCPF Penang Attendees were Y.Bhg. Dato’ Seri Ong Poh Eng (Chairman); Y.Bhg. Dato’ Seri K. Pulayantran (Deputy Chairman); Mr. JM Tan (Secretary); Mr. Harikumar Katherasen (Treasurer); Y.Bhg. Dato’ Felix Chuah Gim Chuan (Timur Laut DLC Chairman); Mr. James Mohan (Barat Daya DLC Chairman); Capt. Paramaguru Balan Moghan (SPS DLC Chairman); Encik Ridzuan Md Zain (SPT DLC Chairman); Mr. Munusamy Muniandy (SPU DLC Chairman); Y.Bhg. Dato’ M. Kaleessvaran (CM); Encik Rahumathullah Ibrahim (CM); Mr. Victor Lim Kok Hooi (CM); Mr. Joseph Sawaremuthu (CM); Encik Yazid Razali (CM); and, Dr. Kiew Hen Chong (CM). Also in Attendance were Insp. Noor); 5.Jascyln Ngu (P.A. for Dato’ Seri Ong Poh Eng, Penang Golf Club). The Meeting Agenda covered: 1. Opening Remarks by Dato’ Seri Ong Poh Eng; 2. Update in Penang state Organizations to be invited including: 2.1. Hypermarkets/Supermarkets/Malls; 2.2 Petrol Stations; 2.3 Rapid Bus; 2.4 Penang Port SB (Penang Ferry); and, 2.5 FREPENCA Companies; 3. Sharing of the Master Letter of Invitation draft; 4. Aturcara / Itinerary for the Program; 5. Poster Layout with Bilingual (BM / English) Guidelines, and, the 6 Scams highlighted within the QR Code Mini-App / Infographics; and the review of Google Form to be used for administrating and monitoring attendees. In his wrap up summary, Dato’ Seri Ong Poh Eng Opening Remarks included Why this Scam Awareness QR Code was critical to reaching out to the targeted audiences / general public; QR Code Mini App has been endorsed by CCID Bukit Aman; Ownership / Teamwork of this Program by MCPF Penang SLC Members; Expected targeted Audience of 400 to 500; MCPF Federal attendance; MBPP and MBSP involvement to include Wet Markets; Strategic Goal is for Scam cases to drop in Penang; This may not be ‘perfect’ but is a starting point for launching and further proliferation in the future; Attendees also discussed key logistical and processes items covering this Program.
