MCPF Penang, SPU DLC & TL DLC supports Canva Competition for Penang SJK (T) Schools at SSPT, JPNPP Pokok Sena, SPU

A successful Canva Competition was held among SJKT schools in Penang on Friday 3rd October 2025 from 8:00 am till 1:00 pm at Sektor Sumber Pendidikan Teknologi (SSPT), Jabatan Pendidikan Negri Pulau Pinang, Pokok Sena, Seberang Perai Utara.

This Program for Tamil Primary Schools of Penang was collaboratively organized by: 1. SJKT Palaniandy, Kepala Batas, SPU; 2. Sektor Sumber Pendidikan Teknologi JPN Pulau Pinang (Technology Education Resource Sector, Penang State Education Department); 3. Institut Pendidikan Guru Kampus Tuanku Bainun (Tuanku Bainun Campus, Teacher’s Education Institute); and 4. Persatuan Guru Besar SJKT Pulau Pinang (Penang Tamil National Type School Principals Association).

The Distinguished Guests amongst the Attendees included: 1. YB Dato’ Seri Sundarajoo Somu (Penang State Executive Council Member for Housing & Environment who also serves as the Chairman of the Special Committee for SJKT in Penang); 2. Encik Saiful Nizam bin Ramlee (Chief Asst. Director of SSPT JPN P.Pinang); and, 3. Dr. Maran Chanthiran (Lecturer of Institut Pendidikan Guru, Kampus Tuanku Bainun).

In Attendance from MCPF Penang were: 1. YBhg. Dato’ Seri Pulayantran Kayambu

(Deputy Chairman, MCPF Penang / also EXCO of MCPF Federal); 2. Mr. Munusamy Muniandy (Chairman, SPU District Liaison Committee); 3. Mr. Haribalan Gopal (Secretary SPU DLC); and, 4. Mr. Kathiraveloo Thangiah (Timur Laut DLC Member.

SJK (T) Palaniandy’s support was led by Mr. M. Selvakumaran (Headmaster). He was accomp anied by: 1. Mrs. R. Pushparani; 2. Mrs. M. Kanagi; 3. Mr. G. Sangkaran; 4. Ms. G. Kirushnaveni; 5. Mr. T. Ramaprabha; 6. Mr. K. Vijayan; 7. Mrs. M. Samundiiswari; 8. Mrs. G. Shalini; 9. Mrs. S. Hamah Maleney; 10. Mrs. S. Sharon Shamini; 11. Mrs. R. Vani; 12. Mrs. S. Chitradevi; 13. Mrs. G. Sutha; and, 14. Mrs. M. Gaithiri. Program Summary: A. This competition was participated in by 27 SJKT schools from across the state of Penang, involving around 200 individuals including students, teachers, and trainees; B. Canva is an application that allows users to easily develop their graphic design skills and creativity; C. Students were also exposed to Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology, which enhances their ability to think logically, generate creative ideas, and find the best solutions; D. Such competitions also provide a clear objective in encouraging students to continue learning beyond the syllabus while cultivating an innovative culture.
