
Minister of Parliament and Law, YB Datuk Dr. Hj. Abdul Latiff Hj. Ahmad is heading a special committee to look into the death of firefighter Muhammad Adib Mohd Kassim in 2018. On 13th November 2021 he confirmed the appointments of senior consultant forensic pathologist at the Penang Medical College Y.Bhg. Dato’ Dr. Bhupinder Singh Jeswant Singh, former Court of Appeal judge Yang Arif Datuk Kamardin Hashim, Universiti Malaya’s (UM) senior consultant histopathologist Y.Bhg. Datuk Dr. Looi Lai Meng, criminologist (and MCPF stalwart) USM’s honorary Associate Professor Y.Bhg. Dato’ Dr. P. Sundramoorthy as well as two Bukit Aman senior officers – Chief Assistant Director (D10) Forensics of YDH SAC Azari Abd Rahman and the Head of the PDRM School of Investigation and Prosecution Sciences, YDH SAC Mohammad Abd Hamid. Other members previously announced were Home Minister YB Dato’ Seri Hamzah bin Zainudin, Housing and Local Government Minister YB Dato’ Sri Reezal Merican Naina Merican, Attorney-General Idrus Harun, and YDH IG Tan Sri Acryl Sani bin Abdullah Sani. This Special Committee was agreed to at the Cabinet meeting on 29th October 2021.
