2018 was notably Penang’s turn to be the host for the 10^th Asian Criminological Society Conference. MCPF Penang’s Crime Prevention stalwart and close collaborator Associate Professor Dr. P. Sundramoorthy was the Conference Chairman. Kudos to Dr. P. Sundramoorthy. The 3 Days Conference proper was held at G Hotel Gurney from Monday 25^th June 2018 to Wednesday 26^th June 2018. The morning of Day 1 program had the Opening Ceremony, Welcoming Remarks, Welcoming Address & Opening and two Keynote Addresses being delivered. MCPF Penang Chairman Dato’ Seri Syed Jaafar Syed Ali’s Welcoming Remarks was delivered following that of Dr. P. Sundramoorthy and preceding Dr. Chuan-Jim Sheu (ACS President). The Welcoming Address & Opening was by the Honorable Professor Datuk Dr. Asma Ismail, FASc, Vice Chancellor of Universiti Sains Malaysia. The 3^rd and 4^th Keynote Addresses were delivered on Day 2 (Tuesday 26^th June 2018) and Day 3 (Wednesday 27^th June 2018) respectively. MCPF Penang SLC Members who signed up for the 1^st Day’s morning session had the privilege of listening / learning from the 1^st two Keynote Addresses. PDRM’s YDH SAC Dato’ Mohamad Anil Shah (HOD, JPJKK Penang) shared an interesting paper “An Analytical Insight of Cybercrime in Malaysia” on the morning of Day 2. MCPF Penang is really proud that its SLC Member James Mohan was ‘engaged’ by the Conference Organizing Committee to be the Master of Ceremony throughout Programs held at the Ballroom – essentially all morning agenda of the 3 Days as well as the Welcoming Dinner on the night of Day 1.
