
MCPF held its 24th Annual General Meeting at the Hotel Dorsett Grand Subang on 1st April 2017. Preceding this AGM in the morning was a continuation of the dialogue on challenges being faced by MCPF including Administrative matters and Funding concerns. MCPF Penang Chairman Dato’ Syed Jaafar Syed Ali and Secretary Rosli Mohamad Ali represented on behalf of the Penang SLC.
At the AGM itself, MCPF Penang was represented by its Chairman Dato’ Syed Jaafar Syed Ali, Vice-Chairman (II) Dato’ K. Pulayantran, Secretary Rosli Mohamad Ali, SLC Member Munusamy Muniandy and MCPF Member Palamguru Balan.
The war against drugs was the key focus and message during this year’s MCPF AGM.
The Chairman of MCPF Datuk Seri Dr. Ahmad Zahid Hamid highlighted that Malaysia needs to get tough on drug abusers and pushers. He shared that from the Prisons Department records that in 2015, 55% of criminals inside Prisons were drug offenders compared with 42% in 2014. He added that drug addicts needed to undergo physical rehabilitation as well as spiritual intervention.
MCPF Senior Vice-Chairman Tan Sri Dato’ Lee Lam Thye encouraged MCPF and JPJKK of PDRM to step up its fight against the ongoing drug menace by going to the ground and enhance awareness on the evils of drugs especially to youths.
