The 5th OSAC (Overseas Security Advisory Council) Security Symposium by the Regional Office of the Embassy of the United States was jointly hosted by OSAC KL and MCPF Penang and held at DELL Global Services Center, Bayan Lepas FIZ Phase IV on 6th November 2019. It was co-organized and jointly hosted by Dr. EL Ching. Chairman of Kuala Lumpur OSAC Steering Committee (cum MCPF Penang Secretary / SPT DLC Chairman), MCPF Penang SLC Member James Mohan for MCPF Penang South-West District Liaison Committee and Mr. Michael Cestaro of US Embassy, Kuala Lumpur. The final paper presentation was delivered by Supt. A. Anbalagan, OCPD South-West (Barat Daya) District of Penang on behalf of YDH CP Dato’ Narenasagaran Thangaveloo. James Mohan (also MCPF Barat Daya Chairman) was the lively Master of Ceremony. MCPF Penang was well represented by Vice-Chairman II Rosli Mohamed Ali (who also delivered the Welcoming Address on behalf of MCPF Penang Chairman Y.Bhg. Dato’ Seri Syed Jaafar Syed Ali); Treasurer Harikumar Katherasen; SLC Member cum North-East Timur Laut Chairman JM Tan; SLC Member cum SPT DLC Treasurer Ridzuan Md Zain; SLC Member Joseph Sawaremuthu; SLC Member cum SPT DLC Committee Member Victor Lim Kok Hooi; Barat Daya DLC Members Krishnan Maniam, J. Philip Vincent and Jarmy Goh; SPT DLC Vice-Chairman (II) Aru Sinnasamy; and MCPF Members Shamsher Singh Thind (who also delivered one of the paper presentation “Presumption of Law and the Application of Section 114A of the Evidence Act 1950”); Rahumat Ibrahim and Matthew Selvaretnam.
There was a very good turnout with many Security Practitioners from the Industry from both the Cities of George Town Island and Seberang Perai. It was interesting also that the Opening Speech was delivered via a live Dial-In from the United States by Mr. Tim Riggs, Vice-President of Physical Security, DELL Security and Resiliency Office. Kudos to OSAC KL and MCPF Penang / Barat Daya DLC for carrying on the torch of ensuring each and every OSAC Security Symposium held in our State has been a success.
