
MCPF Penang is positively heartened by the Royal Malaysia Police Penang Contingent’s Crime Prevention and Community Safety Department for its full support and emphasis to enhance the use of English among its Senior Police Officers. An English Language in Service Training Session was held at the Main Meeting Room of the Penang Police Headquarters chaired by Honourable SAC Dato’ Mohamad Anil Shah – Head of Department of CPCSD Penang cum MCPF Penang Vice-Chairman (I). This first in Service Session of the Penang CPCSD proceeded smoothly with the message of improving the usage of written and spoken English language. This drive is congruent with the aspiration of the Honourable Prime Minister of Malaysia Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad to have all Government agencies including the Royal Malaysia Police Force to ensure the English proficiency of all its Officers and Staff. The Honourable Tan Sri Mohamad Fuzi Harun, Inspector-General of Police (MCPF Deputy Chairman) and Dato’ Seri A. Thaiveegan, Chief Police Officer of Penang (MCPF Penang Honorary Advisor) has also instructed all its OCPDs and HODs to conduct their meetings in English. In a subsequent Press release by the Honourable Tan Sri Lee Lam Thye, Senior Vice-Chairman of MCPF, he iterated this message and expressed his full support with regards to this matter.
