
MCPF Penang SLC Member cum Timur Laut DLC Chairman JM Tan, DLC Members Peter Paul Arokiyasamy and SM Veera attended the official launching of Daerah Timur Laut ‘Ziarah Cakna’ by YB Ram Karpal Singh (Member of Parliament, Bukit Gelugor) at SK Bukit Gelugor on 10th February 2020. In her address Puan Hjh Azizah binti Paijo, Pegawai Pendidikan Daerah Timur Laut emphasized that the ‘Ziarah Cakna’ Program was to improve positive communications between Parents, School Principals, PIBG to curb truancy and school drop-outs. YB Ram Karpal Singh delivered the Key Address on behalf of YB Teo Nee Ching, Deputy Minister of Education where he emphasized on inculcating good culture, healthy lifestyle and improved knowledge of school students to secure a better future as more productive and effective citizens toward Vision 2030. He also underlined the importance of Bahasa Malaysia as a unifying language but encouraged that the importance of the English language for success in the international arena and that it must not be ignored. Also in attendance were Tuan Edi Othman, Headmaster, SK Bukit Gelugor; ASP Zulhairysyim bin Abd Aziz, Ketua Balai Polis Jelutong; Tuan Azli Mohd, YDP PIBG SK Bukit Gelugor; Tuan Abdul Said bin Hussain, Deputy District Education Officer of Timur Laut (Planning Sector); Tuan Fadzil bin Sadikin, Deputy District Education Officer of Timur Laut (Student Development Sector) cum MCPF Timur Laut DLC Member); Encik Muhammad Shameer, Head of Armafa Bersatu, Penang and invited School Principals from all 110 Schools of Penang North-East District.
