A Walkabout Engagement Program was organized by the Crime Prevention and Community Safety Department (JPJKK) IPK Pulau Pinang headed by YDH SAC Puspanathan a/l Wiresingam with the Ahli Jawatankuasa of Sree Maha Mariaman Temple Management followed up by a visit to the former Police ‘Panthal’. This Program was led by YDH SAC Puspanathan a/l Wiresingam where JPJKK distributed Crime Prevention and SCAM Awareness leaflets to temple visitors. This was also a good community outreach platform to enhance communication with the local community and the dissemination of information to the police and for the police to deliver compact, concise information and latest trends in relation to SCAMs. The targeted audience was the Indian community in the area and in line with the overarching theme of ‘Polis dan Masyarakat Berpisah Tiada’. Participating in this program were YDH ACP Poopathy a/l Jayabalan, Deputy HOD of Special Branch; YDH Supt. Zulkeflee bin Sulaiman, Acting OCPD of Seberang Perai Utara; YBhg. Dato’ Seri K. Pulayantran, Deputy Chairman of MCPF Penang; YBhg. Dato’ Seri S. Chandran a/l Suppiah, Administrative Director of MMP Resources Sdn. Bhd.; Senior Officers and other Police staff.
