MCPF Penang SLC and the Penang State Education Department – (Student Affairs) met up for a productive dialogue session at the Penang State Education Department Office, Jalan Bukit Gambier, Gelugor on Thursday 24th July 2025. The meeting was hosted by: 1. Tuan Fadzil Sadikin (Chief Asst. Director, Student Affairs); and, 2. Tuan Hj. Roslan Darus (Officer, Student Affairs). MCPF Penang SLC was represented by: 1. Tuan Hj. Rosli Mohamed Ali (Vice-Chairman II); 2. Encik Rahumathullah Ibrahim (SLC Member); and, 3. Mr. Joseph Sawaremuthu (SLC Member). The Agenda covered: 1. JPNPP planned 1/2 day session “Training of Trainers” for selected teachers responsible for KPJ (Kelab Pencegahan Jenayah) to be held on 4th August 2025 (1:00 pm to 4:30 pm) at Kolej Vokasional Seberang Perai. Hj. Rosli Ali was invited by Tuan Fadzil Sadikin to deliver a talk on MCPF. Mr. Joseph SM will accompany. 2. CCTV Project for two selected schools with domitories i.e. SMK Tok Permatang Jaya (SPU); and SMK Mengkuang (SPT). The background info on selected schools; key objectives to deter bullying; on-site review; potential vendor involvement; invitation to SPT & SPU Chairmen; numbers of CCTV and potential locations / set up / systems; maintenance costs / PIBG possible partnership; and cost of setup / maintenance were deliberated upon. MCPF Penang’s potential involvement in the CCTV Program will require further discussion; and, 3. JPNPP – MCPF Penang KPJ Programs at District Levels with proposed involvement of PDRM PPS (Pegawai Perhubungan Sekolah). This year’s rollout will emulate similar approaches made in 2024. An overarching Workshop for PPD Officers, selected teachers and MCPF DLC will precede District level rollout involving both selected Focus Primary & Secondary Schools. Timeline and Budgetary approvals required. Summary: Overall, good progress made. Teamwork between MCPF Penang SLC / DLCs; JPNPP and PPDs; PDRM PPS; and, other NGOs / Agencies will be required to ensure successful implementation of the two key Programs covering both CCTV Project and KPJ commitment and continuity.
