MCPF Penang holds a Dialogue Meeting with Rapid Penang at their Lorong Kulit, George Town HQ

A meeting was held between MCPF Penang and Rapid Bus Sdn Bhd (Rapid Penang) on Tuesday 4th Nov 2025: 10:10 am to 11:05 am at Rapid Penang Office, Lorong Kulit, George Town, 10460 Penang

1. Welcome by Puan Rafidah Karim, Vice President II, Bus Communication. On behalf of the Head of Northern Region, she welcomed all attendees to the meeting; 2. Introduction of MCPF Penang Attendees; 3. Introduction of Rapid Penang Attendees; 4. Overview of MCPF, MCPF Penang, “PDRM Pulau Pinang – MCPF Penang Scam Awareness QR Code (Mini-App Infographics) and proposed display of Posters by Johnny Michael Tan; 5. Discussion on possibilities of promoting Scam Awareness QR Code through the various entities of Rapid Bus Sdn Bhd (Rapid Penang) including: 5.1 Weld Quay Main Terminal (Timur Laut); 5.2 Teluk Bahang (Barat Daya); 5.3 Bukit Jambul (Timur Laut / Barat Daya); 5.4 Bukit Mertajam Summit; 5.5 Nibong Tebal (SPS); 5.6 Kompleks Dato’ Kailan (SPU); 6. Other entities discussed included various Rapid Penang Bus Depot including: 6.1 Penang Sentral (Kiosk); 6.2 Komtar (Kiosk); 6.3 Rapid Penang Office, Lorong Kulit; 6.4 any others to be determined by Rapid Penang.
7. The following were discussed and to be pursued collaboratively by Rapid Penang & MCPF Penang:

7.1 To optimize the Rapid Penang Information System (PIS) with simplified Video looping of visually impactful information covering items like: 7.1.1 Scam Awareness QR Code; 7.1.2 997 NSRC Number; 7.1.3 Report to the Police; 7.1.4 Graphics with Bilingual labelling of the Six Main Scam categories (Scams powered by Artificial Intelligence; Call Centre Scam; Mobile App Scam; Parcel Scam; Love Scam; and Investment Scam; 7.1.5 Critical Reminders (to be refined): “Please Trust No One; Please Check Before You Act; When In Doubt – Please Ask”; 8. Other pertinent matters covered included 8.1 Dato’ Seri Ong’s emphasis on why this is so important due to the rampant levels of Scams and that with Rapid Penang’s support the ‘Public Outreach’ Potential – through 47 active Routes and a fleet of 309 buses & 52 Rapid On Demand vans); 8.2 Bilingual approach to reach the public; 8.3 Display of the Scam Awareness QR Code to reach Rapid Penang’s ~700 Bus Captain’s; 8.4 Suggested that MCPF Penang work in cognizance with MBPP & MBSP for displaying the Scam Awareness QR Code Posters at all sheltered Bus Stands; 8.5 Rapid Penang will bring this matter to Rapid Bus Management to seek their support for the SCAM Awareness Campaign. 8.6 If required Dato’ Seri Ong Poh Eng committed to help customize and incorporate the Prasarana Logo to the existing Scam Awareness QR Code Poster; 9.
