MCPF Seberang Perai Selatan District Liaison Committee Chairman Mej. Bersekutu (PA) Paramaguru Balan Moghan accompanied by Vice-Chairman (II) Mr. Arumugam Rajoo & DLC Member Mr. Cheong Yu Hoo was present at a “Walkabout Program” led by the Chief Police Officer of Penang YDH CP Dato’ Ts. Azizee bin Ismail at the Ramadan Bazaar Kg. Kepala Gajah followed by the Breaking of Fast at Masjid As-Solihin, Kg Kepala Gajah, Simpang Ampat, SPS on Wednesday 4th March 2026 commencing at 6:00 pm.
In Attendance from the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) were: 1. YDH CP Dato’ Ts. Azizee bin Ismail – Chief Police Officer of Penang; 2. YDH DCP Dato’ Mohd Alwi Zainal Abidin – Deputy Chief Police Officer of Penang; 3. YDH SAC Zakaria bin A. Rahim Head of Special Branch, Penang; 4. YDH SAC Puspanathan a/l Wiresingam – Head of Crime Prevention and Community Safety Department, Penang; 5. Heads of Departments; 6. District Police Chiefs; 7. Senior Officers of JPJKK, Penang Police Headquarters; 8. Heads of Divisions, IPD SPS; and, 9. Heads of Police Stations, IPD SPS. Public Attendees included: 1. Mejar Bersekutu (PA) Paramaguru Balan – Chairman of Malaysian Crime Prevention Foundation (MCPF) SPS; 2. En. Sofian bin Abdullah – Chairman of MPKK BTM Selatan; 3. Tuan Haji Sohani bin Ahmad – Chairman of Masjid As-Solihin; 4. Mr. Arumugam Rajoo – Vice Chairman (II), MCPF SPS DLC; 5. Mr. Cheong Yu Hoo – Committee Member, MCPF SPS DLC; 6. Three Committee Members of MPKK BTM Selatan; and, 7. Four Committee Members of Masjid As-Solihin
The Key Objectives of this Program were: 1. To enhance the presence and visibility of the Royal Malaysia Police within the community in order to create a sense of safety and public confidence during the month of Ramadan; 2. To personally observe the level of security, traffic control, and compliance among traders and visitors at the Ramadan bazaar, while delivering crime prevention messages in public areas; 3. To obtain direct feedback from the community regarding issues related to security and public order for further improvement; 4. To strengthen ties between the leadership of the Royal Malaysia Police in Penang, frontline personnel, and the mosque community; 5. To express appreciation and moral support to officers on duty throughout the Ramadan period; and, 6. To strengthen strategic cooperation and engagement between the police and mosque institutions and representatives from the Malaysia Crime Prevention Foundation in maintaining public safety and order. Summary Remarks: The program was carried out smoothly and received positive support from the local community, particularly members of MPKK and the mosque committee, in promoting community-based crime prevention. It reflects the continual support and commitment of YDH Dato’ CP of Penang / PDRM to ensuring public safety during the Holy Month of Ramadan. It is hoped that similar programs will continue to be organized in the future.
