The Penang State Level of the 219th Police Day Commemorative Ceremony was officiated by YDH DCP Dato’ Mohd Alwi bin Zainal Abidin, Deputy Chief Police Officer of Penang at the Marine Police Force Region 1 Community Hall, Batu Uban, Penang on 25th March 2026.
During the ceremony, the Deputy Chief of Police of Penang delivered the Penang State Chief of Police’s Message which stressed that the celebration of Police Day is a manifestation of appreciation for the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) as the main institution in maintaining the security and well-being of the country. Based on the community security approach, PDRM continues to strengthen its strategic cooperation network with various stakeholders to maintain the level of public confidence in the force. The theme “Polis dan Masyarakat Berpisah Tiada’ (“There is NO separation between the Police and Community”) epitomizes the close relationship between the police and the community in an effort to create a peaceful and harmonious environment. Despite facing various challenges, PDRM remains committed to providing professional services, with integrity and guided by the law and standard operating procedures (SOP). As a token of appreciation for their excellent service and contributions to the corporate social responsibility program, several individuals and organizations received a Letter of Appreciation from the Penang Police Chief.

The ceremony was also attended by YB Tuan Teh Lai Heng, Komtar Assemblyman; Vice Chairman of the Penang Contingent PERKEP, Datin Wan Norazah binti Wanchik; Head of Special Branch, YDH SAC Zakaria bin A. Rahim; Head of the Crime Prevention and Community Safety Department, YDH SAC Puspanathan a/l Wiresingam; Director of Seberang Perai Prison, PKK Norulekhsan bin Abdul Rahim; Chairman of the Malaysian Crime Prevention Foundation (MCPF) Penang, YBhg. Dato’ Seri Ong Poh Eng; Director of MACC Penang MACC, Datuk TPJ Karunanithy a/l Subbiah; Heads of Departments; invited dignitaries; Chairman of the Police Pensioners Association; strategic partners of the PDRM; media partners; senior and junior police officers; civil officers and members of the Penang Contingent PERKEP. MCPF Penang appreciates the recognition given with its Chairman Dato’ Seri Ong Poh Eng being a recipient reflecting his superb leadership of MCPF Penang and ensuring the close collaboration and cooperation between PDRM and MCPF. SPU DLC Chairman Mr. Munusamy Muniandy was also recognized.
