MCPF Barat Daya District Liaison Committee headed by its Chairman Mr. James Mohan was invited by the Church of Divine Mercy, Sungai Ara to participate in a SCAM AWARENESS and MCPF OVERVIEW in a collaborative effort between PDRM DBD and MCPF DLC DBD on Saturday 18th April 2026 from 9:30 am to 11:00 am

Held at the 3rd Floor of the Church of Divine Mercy, Sungai Ara and organized by the Church’s Gift of Time Ministry and Learning Centre, the Main Objectives were to create SCAM AWARENESS and to propogate the existence of MCPF as a crime prevention NGO to the public at large.

In Attendance were: 1) ASP Devan Raman / CCID DBD; 2) Insp. Saw / CCID DBD; 3) Reverend Father Michael Raymond / Parish Priest, Church of Divine Mercy; 4) Mr. James Mohan / MCPF DLC DBD Chairman; 5) Mr. Gideon Lau Sing Kwang / MCPF DLC Treasurer; 6) Mr. Thomas Devasagayam / MCPF DBD DLC Member; 7) 50 parishoners

The Program: 1. SCAM talk by ASP Devan Raman. 2. MCPF overview by James Mohan. 3. Interaction with participants. 4. Distribution of MCPF Penang goody bags with phamplets. 5. Q & A 6. Refreshment / Networking 7. End It was a productive and fruitful event with good interaction from the floor. Good indepth coverage on SCAM by PDRM. It was evident that there are still many ignorant people who are at the mercy of scammers everwhere. It was also a good platform to perpetuate the existence and key mission and key objectives MCPF to the community. As a follow up, MCPF DLC DBD will be conducting a talk on bullying for the students of the parish in the near future.
