MCPF Penang Deputy Chairman Dato’ K. Pulayantran officiated at a Consumer Rights Seminar that was hosted by SMK Simpang Ampat, Seberang Perai Selatan on 29^th January 2018. This Event with the Theme “Smart Consumer, Success for Malaysia” (“Pengguna Bijak Malaysia Berjaya”) organized by Penang Branch of the Voice of the Consumers’ Association, Malaysia (Pertubuhan Suara Pengguna Malaysia – PSPM), and the Ministry of Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism (Kementerian Perdagangan Dalam Negeri, Koperasi, dan Kepenggunaan) was in collaboration with MCPF Penang and supported by the Co-Curriculum Unit of the Penang Education Department. Dato’ Ganasalingam Raman handed out the Certificates while Dato’ Navaneethan Muniandy officiated the Closing Ceremony. Other VIP Attendees were Tuan Haji Zulkafli Bin Kamaruddin (Head of Co-Curriculum Unit of the Ministry of Education), Mr. Ravindran Tanggavelu (President of PSPM) and Tuan Zainal Abidin Bin Jafar (Headmaster of SMK Simpang Ampat). MCPF Penang SLC Member Paramguru Balan Moghan was also in attendance.

The key objective of this short seminar was to inculcate the young minds of Secondary students present, alongside with their teachers to enable greater awareness of consumer rights, fair trade and with this understanding how to avoid being cheated as a consumer.
