MCPF Penang SLC and Timur Laut DLC were present to support PDRM’s launching of “CoPS Box” Program at The Light Collection, off Tun Dr. Lim Chong Eu Expressway on 15^th February 2018. MCPF Penang Chairman Dato’ Seri Syed Jaafar Syed Ali; MCPF Penang Liaison Committee Member cum Timur Laut District Chairman JM Tan; SLC Member cum SPU DLC Chairman Munusamy Muniandy; Timur Laut DLC Members Kathiraveloo Thangiah and Peter Paul Arokiyasamy as well as Barat Daya DLC Member Syed Abdul Rahman Syed Jaafar were in attendance at this auspicious launching of a new generation / modern policing IT boosted interactive tool live monitoring of Patrol duties by PDRM using the QR (Quick Response) Code by YDH CP Dato’ A. Thaiveegan, Chief Police Officer of Penang. The North-East District (Daerah Timur Laut) of Penang State ought to be congratulated as a pioneer for this Patrol Monitoring tool where as at 15^th February 2018 a total of 21 QR Code CoPS Box have been installed (3 of these are at The Light Collection properties) and 18 is now already in use within the jurisdiction of the Jelutong Balai Polis.

Also in attendance were YDH DCP Dato’ Roslee bin Chik, Deputy CPO, Penang, YDH SAC Dato’ Mohamad Anil Shah, Head of Crime Prevention and Community Safety Department, PDRM Penang Contingent, YDH ACP Anuar bin Hj. Omar, OCPD of Timur Laut, other PDRM Heads of Departments, OCPDs and Senior Police Officers. Ms. Carole Loh, the Chairperson of the Management Committee of the Light Collection welcomed all the guests while ASP Rohizad bin Halim, Head of Innovative Projects for the PDRM Penang Contingent shared the insights into this new Patrolling Monitoring tool which replaces the conventional ‘Police boxes / hand-written note books’
