
A Forum titled “Reimagining Policing in Malaysia: Challenges, Reforms, and Future Directions” was held on Wednesday 7th May 2025 at the Dewan Haji Sultan Ahmad Shah, Maktab PDRM, Kuala Lumpur.
Its speakers were:
1. YBhg. Dato’ Dr. P. Sundramoorthy, Criminologist, Universiti Sains Malaysia; and,
2. Assoc. Prof Dr. Mohammad Rahim Kamaludin, Criminologist, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia

Summary: Criminologist / Assoc. Prof. (Hon) Centre for Policy Research, USM / MCPF Penang Advisor YBhg. Dato’ Dr. P. Sundramoorthy was amongst a distinguished panel involved in a Forum with about 300 Senior Police Officers in attendance. The Theme provided a broad space for discussing the current state of policing in Malaysia, while allowing criminologists to delve into issues such as systemic challenges, public trust, reform measures, and potential future improvements.
