MCPF Penang headed by its Chairman YBhg. Dato’ Seri Syed Jaafar Syed Ali and accompanied by SLC Member / Timur Laut DLC Chairman JM Tan & SLC Member Yazid Razali represented MCPF Penang in a Consensus Meeting between RMP Penang and Penang State Education Department at the Main Meeting Room, RMP Penang Headquarters on 14th September 2020. This Mesyuarat Permuafakatan antara PDRM dan Jabatan Pendidikan Negeri Pulau Pinang was co-chaired by YDH CP Dato’ Sahabudin bin Abd Manan, Chief Police Officer of Penang and YBhg. Abdul Rashid bin Abd Samad, Director of Education Department Penang who both delivered the Welcoming Addresses. This was followed by the passing of the minutes of the previous meeting (2/2019) that was held on 19th July 2019. Tuan Mohamad Zakaria bin Zain, KPP Hal Ehwal Murid, JPN Pulau Pinang (also the ex-Officio MCPF Penang SLC Member) shared the Education Department’s updates. This was followed by briefings from JPJKK (Crime Prevention and Community Policing Department) by its HOD YDH SAC Zundin bin Mahmood (also MCPF Penang Vice-Chairman [I]) as well as other Heads of Departments (Special Branch), Criminal Investigation Department, Narcotics, Commercial Crime and the Traffic Departments. JM Tan briefed all present on the perspectives of Crimes in Schools and the various Programs, Activities and Events that MCPF Penang / DLCs had organized or supported in 2019/2020. From the various updates provided, it was identified that the top four concerns in Schools were Bullying, Gangsterism, Drugs and Truancy. Also covered were the support provided by PDRM / School Liaison Officers, Data by PDRM HODs / representatives comparing 2019 and 2020 trends, revival efforts / challenges of Kelab Pencegahan Jenayah Sekolah and difficulties being faced on funding of programs and shortage of resources.
