A dialogue meeting between MCPF Penang and PDRM was conducted at the Board Room, Penang Golf Club on 22^nd February 2024 with the main objective of discussing how to jointly focus and work together to get greater public interest, awareness and attention on SCAMs using an envisaged common platform and SCAM QR Code that optimizes the best from current available clickable QR Codes pertaining to the subject matter from PDRM / CCID and MCPF Penang. PDRM IPK attendees were YDH ACP Rozeni bin Ismail, Head of Department of Commercial Crime Investigation Department (Jabatan Siasatan Jenayah Komersil – JSJK); YDH Supt. Ganesan a/l Chinapan, Staff Officer, Community Policing; DSP Lalitha a/p Nadarajan, DSP PBG Penyasat Kanan; ASP Farrah Norsilla binti Johari, ASP Perancangan Strategik and Kpl. Mohamad Saiful Idham, JKPJKK. MCPF Penang team comprised of YBhg. Dato’ Seri Ong Poh Eng, Chairman; JM Tan, Secretary; James Mohan, Barat Daya DLC Chairman; Paramaguru Balan, SPS DLC Chairman, Ridzuan Md Zain, SPT DLC Chairman and Munusamy Muniandy, SPU DLC Chairman. The meeting opened with Welcome / Opening Remarks by Dato’ Seri Ong Poh Eng followed by an Address by YDH ACP Rozeni bin Ismail. JM Tan then briefed attendees on the MCPF Penang SCAM QR Code / Website ‘Sticky Post’ that contained current up to date SCAM Awareness Tips / Messages; SCAM Awareness Programs completed and SCAM related Press / Media publications. Thereafter, a sharing of PDRM Bukit Aman CCID SCAM e-Commerce QR Code and Contents were briefed including the myriad of social media links covering JSJK Facebook; Cybercrime Alert RMP Facebook; Cybercrime Alert Instagram; JSJK PDRM TikTok; SEMAKMULE link (‘Be Smart, Be Alert’) Muat Turun SEMALMULE Google Play download; Mengenai NSRC (National Scam Response Centre – 997) and e-Book Jenayah Komersil. Further follow-up action steps will be pursued jointly by MCPF Penang and PDRM P. Pinang.
