MCPF Penang Chairman Dato’ Seri Ong Poh Eng chairs MCPF SLC Focus Meeting on the Distribution of Scam Awareness QR Code Posters at PGC Board Room

MCPF Penang Chairman YBhg. Dato’ Seri Ong Poh Eng chaired a ‘Focus Meeting” to review on the Distribution of recently launched (20th February 2025) “PDRM Pulau Pinang – MCPF Penang Scam Awareness QR Code (Mini-App / Infographics) Posters at the Penang Golf Club Board Room on 9th April 2025. Attendees included Mr. Johnny Michael Tan (Secretary); Mr. Harikumar Katherasen (Treasurer); Mr. James Mohan (Barat Daya DLC Chairman); Mr. Paramaguru Balan Moghan (SPS DLC Chairman); Encik Ridzuan Md Zain (SPT DLC Chairman); Mr. Munusamy Muniandy (SPU DLC Chairman); YBhg. Dato’ M. Kaleessvaran (SLC Member); Encik Rahmathullah Ibrahim (SLC Member); Mr. Joseph Sawaremuthu (SLC Member); Encik Yazid Razali (SLC Member); Cikgu Fadzil Sadikin (SLC ex-officio [JPNPP] Member); and, Hj. Roslan Darus (JPNPP Staff). The Agenda how various parties / MCPF Strategic Partners would work in cognizance to help proliferate and provide a ubiquitous presence of the QR Code Posters. JM Tan updated that both MBPP and MBSP will review to provide ‘waiver’ for fees to display on their Electronic Boards. 3,000 copies have been handed over to JPJKK P. Pinang for distribution to Police Stations, Traffic Departments and Petrol Stations state wide. An audience with Prasarana Rapid Penang HQ stakeholders is being arranged. USM has committed to ensure the Posters be displayed at both their Gelugor and Nibong Tebal campuses. James Mohan will be the point person to ensure uniformity of distribution amongst the 77 FREPENCA Group of Companies. Additional follow-up efforts will have to be pursued for Supermarkets, Hypermarkets and Malls. Cikgu Fadzil Sadikin will ensure that the 400 schools in Penang State receives the Posters. Other MCPF Penang strategic partners (AADK, Jabatan Perpaduan, WCC, and PWDC) will be leveraged. Penang Ferry will be reached out to participate. The SLC Team also discussed other possible places to display including minimarkets, convenience stores, places of worship, Service Centres of Members of Parliament / State Assemblymen, Hospitals (GH / District Hospitals and Private Hospitals), Hotels / MAH, Bank Negara and Banks. Progress of the ongoing distribution will be monitored and all to be kept posted. Dato’ Sri Ong underlined that this execution phase needed the support and participation of all SLC Members and iterated the key leadership roles of respective DLC Chairmen. Packets of 500 copies each were handed over to the DLC Chairmen in attendance and Joseph Sawaremuthu.
