
MCPF Penang extends its heartiest congratulations to Polis Diraja Malaysia / Royal Malaysia Police on its 298th Police Day Celebrations on 25th March 2025. In a comprehensively written article, MCPF Penang’s Advisor and renowned Criminologist YBhg. Dato’ Dr. P. Sundramoorthy outlined four critical factors that will enhance the role of MCPF’s key collaborative outlined that the 298th anniversary of the RMP serves as a reminder of the force’s long standing commitment to national security and public safety that 1. Requires strengthening professional development and integrity; 2. Strengthens its community engagement and public trust; 3. Should leverage technology for modern policing; and, 4. Reminded that keeping Malaysia safer is a collective responsibility of citizens, policymakers, law enforcement agencies and the private sector. In another article, MCPF’s stalwart / founder member / honorary life member and currently Chairman of the Alliance for a Safe Community YBhg. Tan Sri Lee Lam Thye extended the population’s deepest gratitude and appreciation to RMP for their unwavering dedication, sacrifice and commitment to maintaining law and order. He expounded some key improvements that included 1. Enhancing Training & Professional Development; 2. Promoting Greater Community Engagement; 3. Having increased Accountability & Transparency; 4. Providing Better Welfare & Mental Health Support for Officers; and, 5. Using of Advanced Technology & Data-Driven Policing. The symbiotic relationship of PDRM / RMP with MCPF permeates through its structure and organization from having the IGP as MCPF’s national Deputy Chairman to respective State Chief Police Officers as SLC Advisors with the Head of Crime Prevention and Community Safety as the de facto SLC Vice-Chairman (I) ex-officio right to the District levels where respective OCPDs are the DLCs’ Advisor and the mirroring of District level Head of Crime Prevention & Community Safety as the de facto DLC Vice-Chairman (I) ex-officio.
