
MCPF Penang SLC Chairman Y.Bhg. Dato’ Seri Syed Jaafar Syed Ali chaired an informal MCPF Penang SLC Meeting on 20th January 2022 at MCPF Penang Office (IPK Pulau Pinang). He updated SLC Members present on the current status of MCPF Federal, MCPF State Liaison Committees and MCPF District Liaison Committees. He iterated that until MCPF Federal progressed further and State DLC Chairmen were officially appointed, current SLCs and DLCs were encouraged to continue its engagement activities bearing in mind of its ‘Caretaker’ status and to take cognizance that such events / activities will be on affordable / low scale and self-funding approach. In this meeting Dato’ Seri Syed Jaafar proposed that the current office be practicably rearranged to accommodate the full attendance of all SLC members and ex-officio SLC Members. Details to be finalized at an appropriate date pending developments as outlined in this update. He informed that MCPF Penang SLC is required to send its 2021 event / activity updates to MCPF Federal. Dato’ Seri Syed Jaafar encouraged DLCs to go ahead with similar ‘informal’ DLC meetings. He also highlighted that MCPF Federal has yet to finalize the AGM date in view of the tight schedule of the MCPF Chairman and his own challenges in the current national issues. He also mentioned that MCPF Kedah was in the midst of conducting a survey on ‘Border Security’ and requested MCPF Penang members to provide support.
