MCPF Penang held its first SLC Meeting (01/2023) for 2023 at the Penang Golf Club Board Room on 9th February 2023. This SLC Meeting was chaired by Y.Bhg. Dato’ Seri K. Pulayantran (Deputy Chairman) to discuss ongoing programs and highlights moving forward in 2023. It was a productive and positive meeting where attendees were briefed on Penang Crime Statistics (2022 versus 2019) by YDH Supt. Ganesan a/l Chinapan, Staff Officer of Community Policing, JPJKK Pulau Pinang who attended the meeting representing YDH SAC Puspanthan a/l Wiresingam (Head of Department, JPJKK Pulau Pinang cum MCPF Penang Vice-Chairman (I) ex-Officio). Members present discussed on developments pertaining to SCAM Awareness; JPNPP collaboration with MCPF Penang, AADK Programs focusing on Mukim 13 Timur Laut and Mukim 20 SPT; WCC Women’s Centre for Change tie up with MCPF Federal; MCPF 30th Anniversary Coffee Table Book publication; MCPF New Membership applications; and upcoming events. Other items included the Financial 2022 end statement of accounts by Treasurer Harikumar Katherasen; DLC Chairmen updates and Round Table discussions. Members were also informed of the forthcoming AGM and 10th Forum on Crime and Policing (a collaborative effort between USM and MCPF) with the Theme “Crime is Colour Blind”. MCPF Penang Chairman Y.Bhg. Dato’ Ong Poh Eng joined the meeting and hosted a High Tea session at Sakurajima Restaurant.
