
A meeting was held at Penang Golf Club on 4th October 2022 to discuss MCPF Penang’s involvement in Kelab Pencegahan Jenayah (KPJ) in Penang Schools. In attendance from MCPF Penang Chairman Y.Bhg. Dato’ Ong Poh Eng, Secretary JM Tan and Committee Member Rahumathullah bin Ibrahim. DSP Shankar a/l Segaran represented JPJKK IPK P. Pinang whilst Cikgu Sohire bin Yusof represented JPNPP. The attendees were briefed on status of KBJ by Cikgu Sohire whilst Rahumathullah covered a ‘White Paper’ that was authored in 2019 by the late Dr. EL Ching and supported by JM Tan. He also shared on a tabulation of Timur Laut KPJ / Kadet Polis Sekolah status of that time prepared by ASP Donny John Jubang of BPJKK Timur Laut IPD. The discussion centered on the proposal to adopt 1 Secondary and 1 Primary School per district supported by MCPF SLC / DLC, JPN (PPD) and PDRM Pegawai Perhubungan Sekolah (PPS). Selected schools would become ‘Pilot’ Models for further proliferation. Dato’ Ong Poh Eng emphasized that this program must focus on current issues and challenges in schools like Bullying / Gangsterism and Drug Abuse. Stay tuned for more progress on this.
