MCPF Penang Secretary / SPT DLC Chairman Dr. EL Ching was invited by AADK (Agensi Anti-Dadah Kebangsaan) SPT to attend a ‘Design Thinking Workshop’ held at the Light Hotel, Seberang Jaya on 4^th September 2020. This workshop was attended by any other Agencies and NGOs from Penang. Various issues related to drug and crime within Penanti area in SPT District were discussed. Participants were sub-divided into 7 groups to look into different issues and challenges. Each team then presented its proposed corrective and preventive measures to turn the Penanti area from a ‘red’ zone to a ‘yellow’ zone. Panel members were YB Hjh Dr. Norlela Ariffin, Penang EXCO (Agriculture and Agriculture based Industry), Tuan Kamarul Haizal bin Koderat, SPT District Officer and Penang AADK Director Puan Elmariah Chung (also an ex-Officio MCPF Penang SLC Member). It was a fruitful workshop and participants were hopeful that Penanti area could be successfully turned into a ‘Yellow’ Zone soon.
