
MCPF Timur Laut DLC held its 3rd Meeting at Pejabat Pendidikan Daerah Timur Laut (Jalan Sultan Ahmad Shah / Northam Road) in the Meeting Room located within SMK Perempuan Island. The meeting hosted by Timur Laut DLC Member Tuan Mohd Fahmy of Jabatan Pendidikan Daerah Timur Laut was attended by its DLC Members Ridzuan Md Zain, Kathiraveloo Thangiah and Peter Paul Arokiyasamy as well as its Vice-Chairman (II) Felix Chuah and Chairman JM Tan. Whilst the general plans for Timur Laut DLC were covered, the key focus topic of the Team was on its School Programs and taking on efforts to bring awareness to students on Crime Prevention particularly on matters pertaining to Bullying, Drugs and Gangsterism. Timur Laut DLC Chairman JM Tan shared an overview of the two topics already completed i.e. “Say ‘NO’ to Bullying” and “Say ‘NO’ to Drugs (Parts 1 and 2). He also took the opportunity to tap the viewpoints and perspectives from the DLC Members on the newly completed “Say ‘NO’ to Gangsterism” package for Secondary School students.
With this meeting, the momentum is now set for TLDLC to work collaboratively with Jabatan Pendidikan Daerah Timur Laut on identifying and focusing on selected Primary / Secondary Schools in Timur Laut which numbers 111 in total (74 Primary and 37 Secondary).
