MCPF SPS DLC Chairman Mr. Paramaguru Balan Moghan accompanied his fellow SPS DLC Members Mr. Komagan a/l Lingam & Mr. Cheong Yu Hoo was in attendance to fully support the “CRC (Cegah, Risiko, Cicir) Workshop – An initiative for the Transformation of Students’ Character and Discipline” held at SMK Simpang Ampat on Tuesday 24th June 2025 from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm. Also present were 1. Puan Siti Fadzillah binti Osman (Deputy Chief District Education Officer [Student Affairs / Counselling] Seberang Perai Selatan District Education Office) cum MCPF SPS DLC Member; 2. Dr. Asaithamy Ramayah, Principal, SMK Simpang Ampat; 3. Eighteen (18) Secondary School Counsellors This workshop focused on planning programs to increase student attendance and to prevent at risk students from dropping out in the Seberang Perai Selatan district. It aims to inspire district counsellors to become agents of behavioral change and be effective catalysts for transforming high-risk behaviours into commendable character traits. It underlines various levels of intervention required for CRC – Students that have completely dropped out, students facing disciplinary concerns, and students who do attend school but exhibiting lack of attention / desire to learn. This notable workshop in collaboration with the Malaysian Crime Prevention Foundation (MCPF) has been further strengthened through an engaging yet informative professional dialogue. In addition to planning empowerment interventions rooted in human dignity (karamah insaniah), counsellors are also guided to become anti-scam agents within the education community. As part of this initiative, the “PDRM Pulau Pinang – MCPF Penang Scam Awareness QR Code” Posters were distributed to all school counsellors for dissemination at their respective schools.
