MCPF Penang / Timur Laut DLC supported and attended the Penang Lang Community Day 2025 on Saturday 28th June 2025 / Sunday 29th June 2025 at the Main Atrium, Sunshine Central Mall, Air Itam, Penang. MCPF Penang SLC Attendees over the two days were YBhg. Dato’ Seri Ong Poh Eng, Chairman & Mr. Johnny Michael Tan, Secretary on 28^th June 2025 and, Mr. Johnny Tan, Secretary & Encik Rahumat Ibrahim, SLC Member on 29^th June 2025.

MCPF Timur Laut DLC Attendees were Mr. Peter Paul Arokiyasamy, Secretary, & Mr. Dannis Khaw Haur Yhee, SLC Member on 28^th June 2025 and Ms. Sally Ng Chit Peng, Vice-Chairman (II), Mr. Peter Paul Arokiyasamy, Secretary & Mr. Teoh Kheng Tatt, Treasurer. Highlights included: 1. Speeches by: Organizing Chairman Mr. Robert Teh, Founder of Penang Walkabouts & co-Organizing Chairman YB Joseph Ng Soon Siang, State Assemblymen for Air Itam; 2. Speeches were also made by YB Ram Karpal Singh, MP, Bukit Gelugor; YB Lim Guan Eng, MP for Began / State Assemblyman for Air Puteh; and YAB Tuan Chow Kon Yeow, Chief Minister of Penang; 3. Other VIPs in Attendance were YBhg. Dato’ Hwang Thean Long, Managing Director of Suiwah Corporation Berhad; Ms. Cynthia Hwang Siew Peng, executive Director, Suiwah Corporation Berhad / CEO, Sunshine Wholesale Mart Sdn. Bhd; and, YBhg. Dato’ Ong Bee Leng, CEO, PWDC.

Brief Overview: 1. MCPF Timur Laut DLC and MCPF Penang were invited to support and participate at the Penang Lang Community Day 2025 to reach out to the Community through: 1.1 Setting up of an MCPF Exhibition Booth with Scam Awareness Prevention Streamers; Crime Prevention Brochures & Literature; and PDRM Pulau Pinang – MCPF Penang Scam Awareness QR Code Posters; 1.2 Handing over of the PDRM Pulau Pinang – MCPF Pinang Scam Awareness QR Code Posters by Dato’ Seri Ong Poh Eng to Ms. Cynthia Hwang to be displayed at all Suiwah / Sunshine Outlets in Penang state;  1.3 Taking the stage on both days to address the crowd in attendance on a practical hands on demo and explanation on the use of the PDRM Pulau Pinang – MCPF Penang Scam Awareness QR Code (Mini-App Infographics) by MCPF Penang Secretary JM Tan; and, 1.4 A motivational and inspiring addressing of the crowd on tips to avoid being scammed by Dato’ Seri Ong Poh Eng on Day 1 of the Program. In Summary: This was indeed a positive Community Outreach efforts by MCPF Penang / Timur Laut DLC to provide better awareness about: 1. The origins, set-up, cascading structures (Federal, States, Districts) and unique collaboration / symbiosis of MCPF, RMP and other Agencies; 2. Live demo, better awareness on the practical usage of the PDRM Pulau Pinang – MCPF Penang Scam Awareness QR Code Mini-App Infographics) with its pertinent links to PDRM Penang / CCID Bukit Aman Social Media / Semakmule / NSRC 997 as well as MCPF Penang Website; 3.1 Emphasis on avoid being scammed by: 3.1 Trusting Nobody; 3.2 Avoid being Greedy; 3.3 Not entertaining strangers’ call(s); and, 3.4 Trusting only Yourself. 4. Encouragement to use features like ‘WhosCall’ as an added protective layer to sieve suspicious reported Scam caller numbers; 5. Importance of calling NSRC 997 / Making Police Report should one be an unfortunate victim of Scams; and, 6. Highlights of the six different Scams outlined in the QR Code Mini-App Infographics): 6.1 Scams powered by Artificial intelligence; 6 2 Call Centre Scam; 6.3 Mobile App Scam; 6.4 Parcel Scam; 6.5 Live Scam; and 6.6 Investment Scam. Kudos to the Organizers, Venue Host, Participating Exhibitors, Program Participants and the fabulous Sunshine Central Mall shoppers / visitors who were in attendance!
