MCPF Timur Laut District Liaison Committee led by its Chairman Mr. Felix Chuah Gim Chuan paid a Courtesy Visit to YDH ACP Razlam bin Ab Halim, OCPD of Daerah Timur Laut, Penang on 14th March 2024, 1500 hrs – 1630hrs at the Main Meeting Room, Level 5, IPD Timur Laut. Other MCPF Timur Laut DLC Attendees included YBhg. Dato’ Mohd Nashir bin Ya, Vice-Chairman (2); Peter Paul Arokiyasamy, Secretary; and, Teoh Kheng Tatt, Treasurer. YDH Tuan ACP Razlam bin Ab Hamid – recently appointed as Timur Laut’s new OCPD hosted the session accompanied by YDH Tuan Supt Lee Swee Sake, Timbalan Ketua Polis Daerah Timur Laut; Tuan DSP Salim bin Emin – KB/JPJKK DTL (replacement for Tuan DSP Shanker Segaran); Tuan DSP Norezairi Mohd Noor – KBSJKD; Tuan DSP Leong Chee Keong – KCKD; Tuan ASP Sohaimi Saad – KC MPV DTL; ASP Prabakaran Krishnan – Admin; and, Puan Insp Tuan Nur Aziera Tuan Putera – KBSJND rep. The Courtesy Visit commenced with a Self Introduction by MCPF TLDLC and PDRM – IPD TL. Tuan Supt Lee Swee Sake shared about himself and his PDRM background; Felix Chuah, Chairman, touched on the roles of TLDLC Members in attendance and what MCPF is all about. Tuan OCPD – ACP Razlam shared about his PDRM background and provided his perspectives on the directions of MCPF TLDLC. He then went on to underline the commitment of cooperation between PDRM and MCPF Daerah Timur Laut in Crime Prevention awareness and initiatives with focused attention on SCAMs highlighting that Daerah Timur Laut has the highest incidences of SCAMs in Malaysia. He also suggested that Jelutong be a focus of attention with regards to SCAMs. Dato Nashir Ya outlined that initiatives by PDRM and MCPF must be impactful to the community stressing that past SCAM Programs lacked public pulling power and such events had more often than not been attended primarily by personnel of the organizing parties. As such he suggested that to attract more public participation, additional events like PDRM exhibits, discounted Traffic offence fines and others could be incorporated. Attendees were in agreement that SCAM Awareness Programs / Events could be further enhanced with the involvement and support of State Assemblymen and MPs; Tuan OCPD requested Supt. Lee Swee Sake to form a Working Committee for forthcoming Program with a scheduled meeting after Hari Raya Aidil Fitri.
