A PDRM Community Charity Fun Run Penang 2017 Event was flagged off on 9^th December 2017 by YDH CP Datuk Wira Chuah Ghee Lye, Chief Police Officer of Penang at the Parking Compound of Queensbay Mall. Also in attendance were the Deputy Chief Minister I of Penang YB Dato’ Mohd Rashid bin Hasnon, the Deputy CPO of Penang YDH DCP Dato’ Roslee bin Chik, the Head of Crime Prevention and Community Safety of IPK Penang YDH SAC Dato’ Mohamad Anil Shah (who is also the Vice-Chairman [I] of MCPF Penang State Liaison Committee), Guests, Head of Departments, OCPDs (who are also the Advisors to MCPF Penang five District Liaison Committees), Senior Staff and Staff of PDRM, Sponsors, Participants and Friends from the Press/Media. This Event, held in conjunction with PDRM’s “Trim & Fit Program” emphasized on the Theme “Polis Dan Masyarakat Berpisah Tiada” alongside promotion of “Volunteer Smartphone Patrol (VSP)”.

Despite the inclement weather, there were over 6,000 participants who took part in a non-competitive spirited atmosphere over two categories – 7 km and 12 km. There were also exhibition booths of various Governmental Agencies and from the Public, Fireworks display and Crime Prevention Demonstration by PDRM.
