
The Chief Minister of Penang YAB Tuan Chan Kon Yeow announced the formation of PgCare Alliance on 11th August 2021. As at the time of the launch / announcement, PgCare Alliance thus far comprises of 18 non-governmental organizations (NGOs), industry players. The honorable Chief Minister as the advisor to the alliance stated that it was established to accelerate help to the poor during this tough Covid-19 pandemic. He stated that PgCare Alliance has four main areas of focus / objective – mental health, job aid, food & shelter aid and financial aid. In his press conference, he announced that leading these four focus areas were Y.Bhg. Dato’ Seri Leslie Lee (Mental Health task force); Y.Bhg. Dato’ Jimmy Ong (Job Aid); Mr. Felix Chuah Gim Chuan (Food and Shelter Aid) and Dato’ Seri Wong Siew Hai (Financial Aid). Noteworthy appointees for this worthy cause and direction that encompasses a neutral, inclusive and fair platform. We wish our MCPF SLC Member cum Timur Laut DLC Vice-Chairman (II) Felix Chuah all the best in his endeavors which has a societal and community impact on crime prevention in these time of adversity.
