MCPF SPS DLC led by its Chairman Mr. Paramaguru Balan Moghan supported and participated in engaging with the Crime Prevention and Community Safety Division (BPJKK) of the South Seberang Perai District Police, the SPS District National Unity Department (Jabatan Perpaduan) together with the Kawasan Rukun Tetangga (KRT) / Skim Rondaan Sukarela (SRS) in the SPS Area on the night of Saturday 21st June 2025 (2100 hrs) till the early hours of Sunday 22nd June 2025 (0145 hrs) at various KRT / SRS localities in SPS. Attendance from BPJKKD included: 1. Insp Muhammad Helmi bin Zainudin, KC OP/KSS BPJKKD; 2. Sgt 161890 Hamizan bin Abd Rahman, BPJKKD; and 3. Three members from Nibong Tebal Police Station. Attendance from the Department of National Unity SPS were: 1. Mr. Marwan bin Storepipe, District Unity Officer SPS; and 2. Four officers from the Department of National Unity SPS. Attendance from MCPF SPS encompassed: 1. Mr. Paramaguru Balan Moghan (Chairman of MCPF SPS District); 2. Mr. Arumugam Rajoo (Vice-Chairman [II]); 3. Mr. Komagan Lingam (DLC Member); and 4. Mr. Cheong Yu Hoo (DLC Member). A total of 81 participants from 5 KRT / SRS locations was positively noted: 1. KRT / SRS Taman Widuri, Sungai Bakap (17 members); 2. KRT / SRS Taman Sempadan, Nibong Tebal (15 members); 3. KRT / SRS Taman Chenaam Indah, Sungai Acheh (18 members); 4. KRT / SRS Taman Cenderawasih, Nibong Tebal (10 members); and, 5. KRT / SRS Kg. Bagan Buaya, Nibong Tebal (21 members).

The Primary Objectives of this series of engagements were: 1. To strengthen relationships between the Police, the Department of National Unity SPS, NGOs (especially MCPF SPS), and KRT/SRS members in the SPS district; 2. To engage with KRT/SRS members to identify current safety issues / concerns in within these neighborhood areas; 3. To increase community interest in participating in SRS and foster stronger ties between the Department of National Unity and NGOs; 4. To assist the Department of National Unity SPS in promoting the “1 Family 1 SRS Member” initiative to the community; and 5. To reach out to these communities to be more aware on the dangers of Scams and to be aware of the availability of the PDRM Pulau Pinang – MCPF Penang designed / developed Scam Awareness QR Code. The engagement and outreach session with KRT/SRS members in the SPS area ran smoothly. MCPF SPS DLC hope that the strong cooperation with the SPS District National Unity Department and NGO participation, especially from MCPF SPS, will continue through upcoming planned programs.
