MCPF Penang Chairman Dato’ Seri Ong Poh Eng attends PDRM Pulau Pinang Advocacy & Launching Ceremony of Ops Selamat 25 at the Jelutong Public Market

Penang Police Chief, YDH CP Dato’ Ts. Azizee bin Ismail officiated the Advocacy and Launching of Op Selamat 25 in conjunction with Chinese New Year 2026 at the Penang State Contingent level which took place at the Jelutong Public Market, Penang on Thursday 11th February 2026 morning.

The public interaction program aimed to increase safety awareness among road users and encourage the public to be more careful throughout the Chinese New Year festive season which will be celebrated on 17th and 18th February 2026. The main focus of the advocacy is to reduce the rate of accidents and deaths on the roads in addition to preventing housebreaking crimes when people return to their hometowns.

As part of the advocacy efforts, the police also distributed safety brochures and provided advice to drivers. The public is advised to drive responsibly, obey traffic laws and prioritize personal and family safety. Homeowners are also reminded to take appropriate safety measures before leaving home to avoid crime. After the ceremony, the Penang Police Chief also held a brief press conference on Op Selamat 25 for the media representatives present.
