MCPF Penang Chairman Y. Bhg. Dato’ Seri Syed Jaafar Syed Ali chaired MCPF Penang State Liaison Committee Meeting 01/2019 at the Main Meeting Room, RMP Penang HQ on 21st February 2019. He thanked all those in attendance. Y. Bhg. Dato’ Ong Poh Eng, SLC Member cum MCPF (Federal) EXCO – shared with attendees on developments from a meeting that he and Y. Bhg. Dato’ K. Pulayantran, MCPF Penang Deputy Chairman cum MCPF (Federal) EXCO had attended in Kuala Lumpur on 18th February 2019. He shared that the next Annual MCPF AGM would be held on Sunday 10th March 2019 and that it would be chaired by the newly appointed MCPF Chairman YAB Dato’ Seri Wan Azizah binti Wan Ismail (Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia / Minister of Women, Family and Community Development). Dato’ Syed Jaafar, in his Chairman’s Address highlighted that 3 Fund Raising events for MCPF Penang in 2019 would have to be supported – Golf and Dinner at PGC; Charity Dinner and International Seminar. He also updated on a fruitful meeting that MCPF Penang had with Dr. Mahanom binti Mat San, Director of Penang State Education Department and Tuan Ismail Said, Head of Development Sector, Penang State Education Department. MCPF Penang SLC / DLC is excited to look forward as to what would be the key focus that its new MCPF Chairman Dato’ Seri Wan Azizah binti Wan Ismail would have on Crime Prevention Awareness efforts. MCPF Penang Treasurer Harikumar Katherasen kept attendees up to date with regards to the financial statement of MCPF Penang. Vice-Chairman (II) Rosli Mohamed Al shared a summary of the recent MCPF Penang Retreat held at PGC.  DLC Updates for the South-West (Barat Daya) and North-East (Timur Laut) Districts were covered by their Chairmen James Mohan and JM Tan respectively. It was also officially announced that Cikgu Hassan Din is now the new ex-Officio MCPF Penang SLC Member – representing the Penang State Education Department.  He takes over from Cikgu Bakri Ahmad who has just retired. MCPF Penang wishes Cikgu Bakri Ahmad all the very best in his well-earned retirement.
