MCPF South Seberang Perai District Liaison Vice-Chairman (II) Mr. Arumugam Rajoo attended the “Consensus and Upgrading of Safe School Management Guidelines 2026” held on Wednesday 1st April 2026 at 8:30 am at the Dato’ Hj. Ahmad Tarmizi Hall, Pejabat Pendidikan Daerah Seberang Perai Selatan.

Participating in this ceremony were the Deputy PPD of the Student Development Sector, PPD HEM Officers (Character & Welfare) as well as agencies such as PDRM, Fire Department, NADI (National Dissemination Information Centres), Unity Department, Youth Office, AADK, PKD, JKM, Main Imam of SPS District Mosque, SPS District & Land Office, Penghulu and MCPF.

Summary: This ceremony was held to strengthen understanding regarding the Safe School Management Guidelines as well as strengthen strategic cooperation between schools and various government and non-government agencies. This program also serves as a consensus platform in addressing current education issues such as student attendance, dropout and student well-being.

The discussion emphasized that the issue of student attendance is closely related to socioeconomic, emotional and environmental factors, thus requiring an integrated approach involving various agencies. In addition, the concept of Safe Schools was also expanded to include physical, emotional, mental and social aspects in line with the direction of national education in the Malaysia Education Plan 2026–2035.

This program also paid attention to current challenges such as extreme hot weather with an emphasis on safety measures that need to be taken by schools to protect student health. Conclusion: The council successfully achieved its objective in strengthening the network of cooperation between agencies and raising awareness about the importance of safe and comprehensive school management. It is hoped that this consensus can be continued to ensure that the well-being and safety of students are always maintained and that no student drops out of the education system.
