A Program Karnival Wira Waspada (Alert Hero Program) co-organized by MCPF Northeast DLC and Timur Laut District Education Office was held at SMK Jelutong on 3rd October 2024. This was the ‘major’ kick off event for the Northeast District as part of the action item to be implemented from the Workshop held at SK Perempuan Island, George Town on 20^th August 2024. There were a total of 8 participating schools: SMK Jelutong (Organizer / Host); SMK Datuk Hj. Mohamed Nor Ahmad; SMJK Union; SJK(C) Beng Teik Cawangan; SJK(C) Kong Min Cawangan Kedua; SJK(T) Subramaniya Barathee; SK Jelutong Barat and SJK(C) Chiao Nan. The total number of student participants was 80 (40 Secondary & 40 Primary). MCPF Timur Laut DLC in attendance were Chairman YBhg. Dato’ Felix Chuah Gim Chuan; Vice -Chairman (II) YBhg. Dato’ Mohd Nashir Ya; Secretary Mr. Peter Paul Arokiyasamy; Treasurer Mr. Teoh Kheng Tatt: Committee Member Mr. Andy Ng Jui Boon and Committee Member Ms. Sally Ng Chit Peng. Attendees from PDRM IPD Timur Laut included Insp. Syaedawati Khalid JSJ DTL; DSP Donny Jubang OC Trafik DTL; ASP Yakob and Insp. Irwadi, PPS. PPD DTL Tuan Mohd Mursalin bin Ramli (also ex-officio MCPF Timur Laut DLC) and Cik Siti Noor Faridah binti Mohd. Termizi. The host SMK Jelutong Headmistress Puan See Bee Khim; Puan Kamala Thevy, Encik Mustafa Hashim and 18 School Teachers were present. The 3 speakers were Mr. Kanapathy Subramaniam of WCC Penang (Ok Tak Ok); Insp. Syaedawati Khalid (Juvenile Delinquency) and Encik Hafiz from AADK (Vape). Exhibits to enthral the students were set up by AADK and Cawangan Trafik DTL. The Welcoming address was delivered by Tuan Mohd Mursalin bin Ramli; Closing was by Dato’ Mohd Nashir Ya and Certificate Presentation was by Dato’ Felix Chuah. Syabas to the Organizing Team, participating schools, school teachers and stakeholders present to motivate the students.
